UNESCO, the United Nations’ cultural organisation, has listed 17 works by pioneering Franco-Swiss architect Le Corbusier as world heritage sites. The sites are in seven countries, including La Cité Radieuse in Marseille, Maison Guiette in Antwerp and the Capital Complex Indian city of Chandigarh.

Magnum photographers have extensively photographed the architect at work and the structures he designed. Here he is captured by René Burri in Paris in 1959.
