Recording Artist Josette On Her Gift From God

Josette is a young artist based in northern New Jersey. This teenage singer/songwriter has been performing at festivals and live shows in the NYC metropolitan area since the age of eleven. One of her most memorable audiences was at the Apollo Theater where she sung at the age of twelve.

7 copy“Without God, I wouldn’t have this gift or the strength I do to keep working despite all the obstacles that I encounter along the way. Not everyone has the luxury to do what they love, but I do because I have God. He’s with me on every stage. He’s with me at every recording session and he’s with me the minute I pick up a pencil to start writing something new. It’s an incredibly difficult industry and world out there for young artists like me and somehow I’ve managed to jump over all the hurdles, but I didn’t do it all alone.“ ~ Josette

Josette began singing at the age of five. Her love and passion for music grew stronger which motivated her to become self-taught on both the guitar and piano. She was only seven when she wrote her first song “All Alone.” Since then she has not stopped. Now in high school, Josette is focusing on her new EP that she expects to complete within the next year. When she isn’t recording, she’s jumping from stage to stage singing her originals as well as covers of the most popular songs.

You Have Been Magnificently Made

A long day at work. I gave my best because I have been magnificently made. And now, I am greeted by the gorgeous falling light of sunset and music to my ears. I am blessed.

Every Day Is A New Day

Every day begins with the opportunity to see the world differently. To appreciate everything and everyone around us.

“The Sun Shines Not On Us But In Us.”

“The sun shines not on us but in us.” This profound quote came from John Muir also known as “John of the Mountains.” God has planted a connection between us and the rest of his amazing creation. Please watch this brief, yet inspiring video that will surely send you out of the house this Earth Day weekend seeking a photographic connection with God and the world He created for us.

‘Muir Song’ Will Inspire You to Photograph the Great Outdoors This Earth Day | Fstoppers Filmmaker Janssen Powers makes me want to go to the mountains immediately. The beautiful Pacific Northwest is on amazing display in “Muir Song,” an ode to naturalist and conservationist John Muir. Fittingly released on what would have been his 178th birthday, Powers takes us on a beautiful journey through the mountains and sea. If after watching this video you haven’t booked your tickets (or if you’re lucky to live there and don’t go outside immediately), there is truly something wrong with you. read more at

“Celebrate Childhood”

I just love it when photographers create an exhibit and title it a “Celebration…” And why not. Of course, the happy moments but, also the not-so-happy moments. All moments of a child’s life are expressive of some form of a gift from God. At the time, the gift may not be obvious. But in time, we will look back at these beautiful captures of our children (who are God’s children first), and each one of them will surely draw a smile.

Now I Feel God’s Pain

A stem so strong
for the petals held.
So I may smell
the fragrance well.

Follicles adorn
for function and form.
God’s thoughtful design.
God’s gracious reward.

Not colors, but hues
from a spectrum to choose.
And many He’ll use.
He has nothing to lose.

Patterns and details
not always so obvious.
Embedded I trust
so that gazing’s a must.

TrichomaniaThe seasoned minds
of the world’s engineers
could not compare.
Should they even dare.

To design for efficiency;
To destroy for simplicity;
To replace with generic;
To care less bout aesthetic.

A concert without music.
A garden without sun.
We are missing the point.
We are missing the fun.

All for profit or some other gain.
It’s just not the same.

Now I feel God’s pain.

Like A Fine Wine…

Like a fine wine, age creates a bouquet of human flavor. A life lived gets richer in spirit as time rolls on. This photographer does a great job capturing the depth of beauty that lies on the inside and out of these older women. A true testament that God did not design us to wilt over time.

How Many People Does It Take To Screw In A Lightbulb?

It takes only one filled with the love of God. We have been given a limitless ability to light up a room (or the world) and love one another. And love is best expressed when we overcome the voice of the world and what the world teaches us, for the voice of the heart which is true and pure.
